FutFemReflect is a platform for female football players to share their experiences in the game with three main goals:

  • to profile incredible girls and women in football
  • to explore the barriers that may still exist for them
  • to inspire more girls and women to get involved in football

FutFemReflect has three series so far;

1971 Women’s World Cup, interviews with the Lost Lionesses who represented England in Mexico.

FutFemReflect International, exploring girls’ experiences growing up playing football across the globe.

Girls at Grassroots, working with the U12 girls’ team I coach in Manchester to find out what it’s really like to be a girl in grassroots football today.

I’m Ella, I’m a player, a coach, and a women and girls in football researcher. I started FutFemReflect because I believe football can offer truly empowering experiences for girls and women. In a space from which we have so long been excluded, through training we develop our physical strength, commitment, and we build relationships. And in matches, we develop our resilience, we learn to compete, and we learn how to win and more importantly how to lose. Through my project, I hope to inspire more girls and women to give football a go.
